Football at the Peacock
Peacock Gym is best known for boxing, but our strapline has always been “the home of sport and friendship”. Football has been part of the Peacock’s sport, bringing young people and the local community in Canning Town together.
Football has also featured in the gym’s work with young people through the Peacock Academy, which uses education through sport.
The Peacock was founded in 1978 by brothers Tony and Martin Bowers and is a registered charity (no. 1022960). Sport for everyone, not just boxing, has always been part of what the gym does for Canning Town.
